The architectural design of Masarycka by Zaha Hadid is unique not only in the facade design, but also represented a great challenge for the realisation of the entire facade, supplied by Sipral. The great complexity and variety of shapes with many curves clearly resulted in the need to solve the above-standard amount of bespoke details and interconnections of different types of facade constructions. A large number of unique original facade parts are installed on the entire perimeter shell, so they were designed and manufactured as unique pieces. The atypicality and complexity of the facade was reflected in the high demands not only for the design work, but also on the actual production, installation and also our supply chain.
The golden keel in the facade of the building dominates the entire building and is exceptional in its shape. The keel construction has an exterior and an interior part. Through the glass facade that separates these two parts, the keel optically continues from the exterior to the interior. The spatial collapsed surfaces of the individual parts of the keel, which connect to each other, make each part an original.
Over 18,000 production and assembly drawings were created for the production of the keel panels. 265 pieces of unique gold panels are mounted on the keel. The visible gold strips reach a total length of almost 6 kilometers. Over 200 tons of steel structures were realized as part of the facade, of which the keel support structure is about 30 tons. Over 2,600 pieces of glass of various types and compositions were used on the facades.
